Pride of place went to our Under 15s who reached National Finals Day, having on the way won County and Regional cups. We eventually finished 3rd in the country, out of an original entry of over 1600 clubs.

U14 win close cup final v Old Whitgiftians
Sutton U14 came out on top in a thrilling cup final victory at Banstead on Sunday 27th August.
Skipper Jay lost the toss and was inserted on damp wicket, the early loss of the captain and leading run scorer George D saw Sutton at 7 for 2, No 4 Harsh played an outstanding innings of 56 including a 60 run partnership with Moksh to see Sutton to a competitive 116 for 8 in their 20 overs.
Old Whits starting slowly but recovered and gradually chipped away at the Sutton total, the Old Whits opener made an excellent 56 but wickets fell regularly at the other end, good spells from Dylan and Jay kept the pressure on culminating in 15 required off the last 2 overs, Jay bowled the penultimate over and thoughtful field placing and good fielding left 8 required off the last over, Amarullah roared in, 1, 1, bye (5 needed off 3) dot ball, wicket (opener caught behind) last ball and 5 needed, however a tie will win it for Old Whits as they have lost less wickets, so 4 needed, nick George D catches, cue mass celebrations, Sutton win by 4 runs!
Ultimately Sutton out fielded the opposition to win an excellent final.
U11 Win NEC Cup Final
Sutton U11 played against Wimbledon in NEC cup finals at Banstead cricket club.
Sutton completely outplayed Wimbledon in all departments and won comprehensively.
Sutton lost the toss and were asked to bat first by the Wimbledon captain on a damp and bouncy pitch. Sutton’s first pair, Sahil and Shravan batted cautiously and scored for the loss of one wicket. Next two pairs, Diyath & Rebecca and Zayaan and Liam, scored 28 runs without losing any wicket. Next pair of Samar and Abqar ripped the Wimbledon bowling apart by scoring 29 runs (Samar 15 and Abqar 12). Sutton’s final pair, Ansh and Anuj, kept scoring runs freely. Pair scored 31 runs. Ansh was the highest scorer for Sutton, he scored 25 runs in 11 balls. Sutton finished at 295 for loss of two wickets.
Wimbledon managed to score only 63 runs for loss of 10 wickets. Sutton’s fielding was amazing where they did 5 run outs. Anuj was the highlight of Sutton bowling. He took 2 wickets for only 9 runs in 3 overs.
Ansh was judged man of the match for his explosive batting and economical bowling.
