Coaches
The Club values the role of coaches in nurturing and advancing the skills of all its members. We are fortunate to have a team of excellent coaches who deliver high-quality sessions for everyone.
Our head coach is John Fry, an ECB Level 3 coach with a wealth of experience in playing and coaching at the highest level. He holds the record for scoring 10,000 runs in the Surrey Championship, which he achieved while playing for Sutton.
Pete Edwards is a Level 2 coach who has been with the Club for more than three decades. He is a former 1st XI player and now a full-time coach who contributes to the Club in various ways. He also witnessed his son’s journey from being a colt to leading the 1st team.
Dan Edwards is a Level 2 coach and a former 1st XI Captain. He is also the club’s 1st XI wicketkeeper and a valuable member of the club’s training programmes. He is a powerful batsman who sharpened his skills in New Zealand a few years ago.
Rehan Ratnasabapathy is the club’s 2023 Trust Captain and Level 2 coach. He is also a regular 1st XI player for the club’s Surrey Championship team. Rehan is an all-rounder who bats in the top order and bowls fast. He has played for Surrey CCC 2nd XI. His coaching style is energetic and inspiring.
George Duckworth is a Level 2 coach who brings his versatile playing experience to his coaching methods. He makes his sessions enjoyable and effective for all.
