Welcome to Sutton CC’s 2024 ‘Fantasy Cricket League’!

The competition is NOW OPEN to enter. 

Have you ever participated in Fantasy Leagues organised by national newspapers? If so, you’ll be familiar with the concept. However, we’ve added an exciting twist to it. Instead of relying on well-known players like Root, Stokes, Foakes, Smith, and others to earn points, our version allows you to choose members from Sutton CC. The success or failure of your team will depend on how these players perform throughout the season.

This league is not only a great conversation starter after each game, but it’s also a fantastic way to stay updated on the achievements of all the men’s senior teams. Simply select 11 players for your team, pick a captain, and watch as your team earns points by scoring runs, taking wickets, and more!

This season’s ‘SCC Fantasy Cricket League’ will not only raise funds to support more social events during the 2024 season but also provide prizes (to be announced) for the managers of the top 3 final places in the Fantasy League.

The format is straightforward:

  • Entry is £10 a team and you can register for more teams if you wish, (unique email addresses required for each team;) and you can conveniently pay online through our Fantasy League website.
  • Points are scored in Saturday league games only.
  • Pick your eleven players including a captain, within a £55m budget.
  • Match statistics are automatically updated via Play-Cricket.
  • Player values increase or decrease as the season progresses, determined by performance.

The competition is NOW OPEN to enter. All the playing rules, and your entry form, can be found at the club’s Fantasy League website HERE.

‘Local’ rules:

  • Managers may enter a team at any point during the season, although to score points for the first league game week, teams must be submitted before the ‘Season Start’ date (11th May 2024.) Thereafter, entries will start scoring points from the game week after they were entered, and points will not be backdated.
  • The League is based on the outcome of all men’s Saturday league games only, starting 11th May 2024, and includes results of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th XI’s.
  • No points are awarded for games played after the last league game of the season.
  • Half the funds raised from the entry fees will go towards supporting the club’s 2024 social events. The other half is awarded as follows: Gold will receive a prize to the value of 60%, Silver place to the value of 30%, and Bronze to the value of 10%.
  • Bribing Captains is strictly not allowed!

The competition is open to anyone who wishes to take part: players, supporters, friends, and family. All welcome; and remember you can enter more than one team.
