The Surrey Championship – proposed leagues merger.
In light of the club’s forum that took place on October 3rd to address the proposed merger of leagues, we are pleased to provide you with the latest updates.
The Surrey Championship, Surrey Cricket League, and Surrey County League recently held extraordinary and special general meetings to consider motions aimed at dissolving their existing leagues in favour of a new league structure. These motions were unanimously approved, setting the stage for the launch of the Surrey Cricket Championship, which is set to begin its inaugural season in 2025. More information is available here
The details provided include a Summary of Playing Conditions for Tiers 1-4. It is essential to highlight that there are two versions of Tier 2 Playing Conditions, developed in response to feedback from the club network. One version retains timed cricket, and a vote will take place at the inaugural AGM, enabling clubs to select the playing conditions to be adopted in 2025.
Also included is a Guide for Promotion and Relegation; and Facilities and Grounds Guidelines.
