Colts Cricket

Sutton Cricket Club has a vibrant colts section, with about 150 boys and girls as junior members and we offer high-quality cricket coaching.
We have teams from U8’s to U19’s, with players of all levels included in the coaching structure. Many excellent cricketers have moved from the Club as a colt to senior cricket and many of the coaches were also colts at the Club.
A recent success story was our U15 team in 2015, who made it to National Finals Day, after winning the County and Regional cups along the way. We ended up 3rd in the nation, an amazing achievement, considering more than 1600 clubs participate in the competitions.
We offer two programmes for young cricketers who want to learn and enjoy the game: All Stars (for ages 5-8) and Dynamos (for ages 8-11). These are 8-week courses run by the ECB and designed for beginners and are run during May and June on a Friday evening, starting May 3rd 2024.
For those with some cricket experience we offer membership of the club with benefits of club membership are outlined below.
In 2022 we introduced a trials day to help parents choose the right programme for their child. The trials day takes place at our Cheam Road ground with the next one set for March 2025 (date TBA) where our coaches will assess children’s skills. The trials day is also a great opportunity to meet other players and parents and get familiar with our club.

Winter Indoor Courses
We offer a 10-week indoor training programme for young cricketers aged 5 to 15 (from year 1 to year 10) during the winter season. The sessions are held on Saturday afternoons at Glyn School in Epsom and are led by Sutton CC’s qualified coaches. Current members have priority booking, but we welcome new participants if there are spaces available. The programme is divided into two parts: one before Christmas and one after Christmas.

Membership
Colts membership covers the following at a cost of £150.00 (2024 season)
- 12 week coaching programme
- Opportunity to play in internal/external fixtures
- Use of Sutton CC net facility outside of club run session (times/dates limited at the club’s discretion)
- Priority booking on winter courses
- Discounted clubhouse hire prices for parents
Fixtures
Our club offers two teams for most age groups, led by volunteer managers who work with the coaches to select the players. The managers and other parents are responsible for organising and running the matches, which require a £4.00 fee per player per game at all levels.
