The annual battle for the Hay Cup, the trophy for the winner of the cricket club's annual golf day, is fast approaching. The event is being held at Banstead Downs Golf Club, on the new course layout, on Thursday 9 September 2010.
Coffee will be served from 8.00am
and then the Hay Cup will be competed for by way of a singles 18 hole
stableford competition, with the 1st tee time at approx 8.15am.
After a light ploughman’s lunch the afternoon golf will consist of a pairs 18
hole Greensomes competition.
In the evening we will sit down for a 3 course dinner at approx 7.30pm, for which jacket and tie is required. Times may obviously vary depending on the number of people attending.
The Hay Cup is only open to
fully
paid up members of the cricket club although, as ever, guests are very
welcome to play and compete for the guest prize. The cost of the day has now
been confirmed at £75. Members of Banstead Downs Golf Club are not required to
pay the green fee element and the cost to them will be £50. For those who
wish to attend the dinner only, the cost is £25.
Please ensure your entry fees are paid prior to the day to assist with the administration of the day.
Maximum handicap for the golf is 24 (players without an official club handicap will be allocated an appropriate handicap on request) and play for the morning round is in groups of three as selected. The pairs for the afternoon Greensomes will be selected once the full entry list is available.
