Wednesday, 23rd April, saw us celebrate our initial St. George's Day fundraising event in wonderful style.Basking in surprisingly sunny, warm weather, (given the adverse conditions earlier in the day,) the fun started at 4:00pm with a Twenty/20 challenge match between a Sutton CC XI and a Sutton Business Houses XI. An enjoyable encounter saw the Sutton CC side squeeze home by 13 runs. (Scorecard here.)
Whilst being majestically entertained by the East Surrey Morris Men, following the cricket, traditional English food was served to over 125 spectators. The Club's Tombola was well supported throughout the afternoon and contributed over £200 to our Colts Section/LCCA ‘fund’.
Whether as a helper, spectator or sponsor, the organising committee wish to offer a massive, ‘Thank You’ to all those who contributed to the success of the day. Your support is appreciated.
