The Dumplings Were Fantastic!

Friday night saw 70 members and guests assemble in the Grace Rooms to enjoy a superb dinner, excellent repartee, and first-rate speeches. Jane Pascoe’s Catering provided food of the highest quality. The main course, consisting of braised beef in Guinness, with mixed vegetables, was accompanied by Jane’s celebrated Horseradish Dumplings. Fantastic! |
After the President proposed the loyal toast we were treated to fine speeches, firstly, by John Hayes, (Bickley Park CC,) who proposed the health of the Club; followed by Club Captain, Keith Medlycott, who replied on behalf of the club, and who afterward proposed the health of the guests. To end with, Vic Dodds, (President Surrey CCC, 2007; Old Emanuel CC,) replied in his renowned matchless way, on behalf of the guests.
A wonderful evening concluded with the prize raffle draw. An extremely generous gathering donated over £250 which will be deposited with funds raised during our St. George’s Day event next Wednesday and subsequently shared between our colts section and local charity, the London Community Cricket Association.
