Letter from Oz - No. 7! (February 28, 2008)

G'day all,

Since I last wrote Jamie and I have been to Adelaide to see Macca and Macey. We arrived on the Sunday and went to the one dayer Aus v India, we watched a little of the cricket but spent more time having a beer or two. Needless to say we had a good day and night and spent most of the next day feeling sorry for ourselves. Macca won the poker night we had although it was by one card the lucky git and I think if we had completed our round of golf he would have won that too, although I came within less then a foot of a hole in one and that is true!

Me and Jamie flew to port Lincoln Tuesday afternoon where our shark diving was taking place. We managed to find a cheap place to stay for two nights and it wasn't that bad a place either. Early start Wednesday to get to the meeting point to set sail. It took about two hours to sail to the spot where the sharks are and most of that was spent being sea sick with the rest of the 17 people on board, which I didn’t even think about until it hit me. Jamie true to form spent the two hours sleeping!

Although the weather wasn’t great which made it hard to see the sharks approaching the bait we had an awesome day and we did see some big mothers too, I think the biggest was about 5m. We spent 45mins in the cage and saw about 3 sharks, one appearing from nowhere. All in all had a great day and wasn’t sea sick on the way back, which was a bonus. Got back to Adelaide Thursday and attempted to go out for a couple of beers but that didn’t really happen as we missed the concert we had tickets for.

It was great to see Macca and Mace again and the beach which is about 100m from there house is amazing.

The week was capped off nicely with Hampton Centrals reaching the finals in 2nd spot. We got the runs we needed with Jamie getting 31 and I was 0 not out next in! We play 1st place this sat/sun with the winner going through to the Grand Final. The loser gets a second chance against the winner of 3rd v 4th. These games apparently attract crowds well into the hundreds so cannot wait for the next two weeks hopefully three of cricket.

This week has been spent earning money digging, jack hammering and moving concrete and dirt about (yes it is as fun as it sounds). I plan to work next week then have my final two weeks off to do whatever I want to so fingers crossed.

That is all for now hope you are all well, let me know the latest with you guys and girls. Cheers Schoey xxx
