Letter from Oz - No. 5! (February 2, 2008)
Hello all,
It’s been a few weeks so here is a whirlwind guide to what I have been up to.
Will start with the cricket, we have played three one day games since my last mail and they haven't gone that well, I have taken a few wickets and scored a couple of 30's but that is about it and the last game was stopped twice for lightening which made batting a bit more extreme.
I, David and Jamie went to the first day of the Australian open at the Vodafone arena and watched Jankovic, Roddick and Sharapova and had a pretty good day which finished off going to the casino and watching people lose a lot of money!
We have plans to go and see Mackey and Mecca in Adelaide and hopefully do some shark-diving when we are there although where I thought we could go is actually six hours away from there so we will have to rethink that one but hopefully it will happen.
We had the clubs $1000 dollar day last Sunday where $20 gets you a ticket in the draw and free food and drink all-day. Unfortunately I did not win the $1000 but I did spend a good hour pushing two of the other player’s kids around in a wheelbarrow! All I can say is it’s a good thing I wasn't pulled over by the police, or can you be done for under the influence whilst pushing a wheelbarrow? Answers on a postcard...... so as you can imagine as we started drinking at 12 mid-day by 4am I was pretty tired and just about merry so a good day was had by all I think!
Apart from doing a couple of days work here and there I haven’t been up to much really, off to play cricket soon in 30 degree heat and the ground is next to the beach, hope we bat first so I can go for a swim......
That’s all folks hope you are all well.
Take care, Schoey!

At the Aussie open! Comments from friends included, "silly point doesnt look very interested," and, that I would still nick it even using the big racket!
