First 50/50 win & it's ECB: Premiership in 2009!! (August 30, 2008)
Premiership Cricket Secured for Next Year!
The 1st XI made safe their Premiership status for next season by securing their first 50/50 format victory of the season today at Cobham Avorians.Dulwich and Normandy are thus relegated, after losing their fixtures to Sunbury and Wimbledon, respectively.
Sam Seadon’s 80 runs combined with Nick Clark’s 8-wicket haul drove the 2nd XI to a massive 158 run win against Old Mid-Whitgiftians at Cheam Road and in doing so, pushed the OMW’s to the brink of relegation.
The 3rd XI managed a winning draw against Reigate Priory at Holmwood Close. So, with Wimbledon’s 3s just surviving by the skin of their teeth against Normandy, also for a winning draw, we simply need to avoid defeat in next week’s fixture with Wimbledon to lock up the 3rd XI Premiership for 2008!
