1st XI fails 50-over challenge again! (August 24, 2008)
A three-wicket defeat by Spencer at Cheam Road on Saturday leaves Sutton without a win in the 50-over format phase of the Surrey Championship Premier Division.
With just two games remaining, they are left battling with Dulwich and Normandy to avoid relegation to Division One.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Sutton’s 2nd XI gained a winning draw in a close match at Banstead.
The Thirds maintained their title hopes with a win at Dulwich, but the 4ths lost their top-of-the-table clash at Hersham.
The 5ths ended their first league season with a pleasing win over Whyteleafe at Holmwood Close, thus securing a final mid-table place.
The 6ths had a tough game at Sheen Park CC, going down by 39 runs.

The 5s ended their first league season with a pleasing win over Whyteleafe at Holmwood Close, thus securing a final mid-table place. A superb effort by a very youthful XI.
