The club has invested capital to increase the size of the square in order to provide good quality grass nets for most of the season. This will give professional level net practice and is in line with ECB coaching guidelines.
Each net strip wicket will probably take two / three weeks wear if used on two nights each week. The use will therefore be restricted to Club Night on Tuesday and 1st X1 Squad practice on Thursday.
Unless specifically agreed otherwise, general practice should take place in the artificial net facility, subject to colt organised coaching days which take place on Mondays and Wednesday evenings. When other organised coaching events are booked (mainly during the day), these will take priority over use by club member.
The net wickets will be covered when required and the responsibility of removal and covering at the end of each session will rest with those who are using the facility. When the nets are deemed unfit for play, a “NOT FIT FOR PLAY” notice will be displayed and in this case the artificial nets should be used.
Only the designated net is to be used and players should ensure that the cage is removed and stowed at the end of any session. The new 6 wheel cage provided should be very easy to move. Do not leave this to others.

When using the nets please respect the following basic rules.
NO DRINKS GLASSES TO BE TAKEN DOWN – USE PLASTIC BOTTLES.
DO NOT LIFT THE NETS UP TO RETRIEVE BALLS AS A SHORT CUT.
TAKE RUBBISH AWAY WITH YOU – IF YOU LEAVE IT SOMEONE ELSE WILL HAVE TO CLEAR UP AFTER YOU.
THE NET CAGE ALONGSIDE THE ARTIFICIAL IS FOR COACHING USE ONLY AND IS TO BE USED WITH A COACHING MAT.
