Dear Colts/Parents,

Season 2013

Welcome to another season at Sutton Cricket Club.

Please take a few moments to read the following, which includes important information relating to the coming season.

Membership Form

The Colts 2013 registration form (click here to download,) must be completed by all colts/parents in the Under 8 and older age groups. In order to reduce bank charges the club encourage individuals to pay via BACS transfer, details of which can be found on the registration form. There is also an option the spread payments over the coming months.

Kit

The club has kit deal with D&M Sports and sample kit is available to view at the clubhouse. Please note that all orders must be placed and paid for via the D&M Web site; a direct link is available through Sutton’s web site: www.suttoncricketclub.com 

Coaching

**Pay as you attend.

Please note that there is no coaching on a) Bank Holiday’s;  b) Mon June 24^th, Wed June 26^th or Fri June 28^th.

Age Group Managers

Below is a list of confirmed managers.  If any parent is willing and able to fill any of the gaps, please call me for a chat. Please note an ECB DBC (formerly CRB) check is required.

Inclement Weather

On occasions bad weather or unfit ground conditions make it necessary to cancel coaching sessions.  As we are keen to run sessions whenever possible they are often cancelled at short notice. So please assume coaching is on unless you receive a text message.  The mobile given on the emergency number 1 section of the colts registration document will be used.

New Members

New members are always welcome at Sutton CC; and we are looking for more numbers at most age groups especially at Under 9 level as we have entered two leagues in 2013.  All potential new members are offered a free taster session before committing to membership.

Parking

Due to the popularity of the new gym, it is envisaged that the car park on colts’ coaching evenings will be busy.  So to help you, the clubhouse will be open at 4.30pm on a Mon, Wed and Friday evening for those who wish to arrive early.  Snacks and drinks will be available via vending machines; and an area set aside for those who wish to do homework etc.  Please note that children must be supervised by a parent/carer until the attendance register is taken. 

Additional coaching

Additional coaching, outside of the designated colts’ coaching evenings, is available.  Either 1 to 1 or small group can be arranged.  Please contact Peter Edwards on 07720 446841 to discuss any requirements.

Summer Clinics

Will be held w/c Mon July 29^th and w/c Mon August 12^th, full details to follow in due course.

Fixtures

Details of age group fixtures can be found at www.surreycoltscricket.co.uk.  Fixture cards will be handed out at the initial coaching sessions.

Senior Side Selection

Sutton actively encourage its youngsters, when appropriate, to make themselves available for selection into the senior sides.  The various XIs are generally selected on the Monday or Tuesday prior to the game.  IMPORTANT: Please note that it is the player’s responsibility to inform the selection committee of their availability!  If you have any queries regarding this matter I am happy to provide advice.  After the selection meeting a weekly team sheet is distributed via email and posted to our website.  Again it is the player’s responsibility to check the team sheet and respond accordingly.

Colts and Senior Match Fees

For the 2013 season the club has maintained a team match fee for all colt and senior matches.  The team fees are £25.00 – senior games, £20.00 – colts’ games.  Please note these are team fees NOT individual fees; however, all players are required to contribute.  In senior games individuals will also be expected to give towards tea and other match day expenses, such as umpires and scorers fees.  The club respectfully asks that youngsters/parents ensure that captains and/or managers are paid on the day of the game.

Sutton Cricket Club

With a current membership of over 120 colts, Sutton CC prides itself on the quality of its junior section.

We have numerous colts representing the league, region and county at various age groups. Many of our ex-colts now represent the club at senior level as well as holding committee positions and coaching roles within the club.  Sutton CC believes that as well as coaching the technical aspects of the game, all colts are made aware of cricket etiquette.
