SURREY CRICKET CENTRE 6-A-SIDE COMPETITION SUMMARY OF RULES

Each innings consists of maximum of 12 six ball overs.

Maximum of three overs per bowler.

Last man stands applies at the fall of the 5th wicket.
-
Batsman to retire at 25 runs.
-
No-ball to be called if ball passes, or would have passed, above shoulder height of the batsman standing upright at the crease.

If scores are level, then team taking greater number of wickets shall be the winner.

If teams are still equal then a ‘bowl out’ shall take place.
-
Ball hitting the side walls, the wall behind the wicket keeper and the ceiling scores one run.

Ball hitting the wall behind the bowler shall score 6 runs if it doesn’t hit the floor or another wall, and 4 runs if it hits the floor first.

A ball which is hit into the gallery or gets stuck into the netting within the hall shall be called a ‘dead ball’ and one run shall be awarded.

Each completed run by the batsman is awarded 2 runs.

A No-Ball shall score 3 penalty runs.
-
A Wide ball shall score 3 penalty runs.
-
Any delivery down the leg-side is to be called a wide.
-
No-Balls and Wides will not result in an extra ball during overs 1-11. They will require an extra ball to be bowled in over number 12.

Overthrows hitting any wall or walls shall count as only one run.

Batsmen can be caught out off the wall, the ceiling and off any netting, except for the boundary wall.
DIVISION WINNERS

The winner of each respective league will be the team with the most points.
-
In the event of a tie for leadership of a division, the winning team will be the one that won the corresponding fixture between the two teams.
