Surrey County Premiership Winners 2006.

Cheam rd small
A vibrant and successful club, providing a cricketing infrastructure second to none within the local community.
Founded in 1857, we are a club with a wonderful cricketing history, all of which was celebrated throughout 2007 as we reached our 150th year!

The first team is supported by a progressive playing structure. Aside from the 1st team, the 2nd and 3rd Saturday teams also compete in the Shepherd Neame Surrey Championship,’ with the 4th and 5th team playing in the AJ Sports Surrey Cricket League.  We often field a Saturday 6th XI, which plays friendlies against teams far and wide throughout south/west London, and Surrey.

On Sundays we field two 'Development' XIs.  The '1st XI' play in the Surrey Trust League and the '2nd XI' play in the Surrey Trust League Development division. (Surrey Trust League.)  Our Sunday Cups XI also competes in various competitions which include the Cockspur and Evening Standard Challenge Trophy. Other adult sides, which play friendly cricket, reinforce that the main reason for playing this wonderful game is for enjoyment and also for the social perspective which cricket should foster.

There is an expanding and successful colts section at the club, which provides the various regional and county age-group squads with a growing supply of emerging young cricketers.  All age-groups from U-8 to U16 represent the club in the North East & Central Surrey Colts League.  The colts joined in the 150th year celebrations by setting-off on the club’s inaugural colts tour!

We always welcome new members to our club, and if you are interested in playing for the 'Popinjays' or simply joining as a social member, drop us a line.  We hope to see you down at Cheam Road soon.
