2011 Review
A highly successful 2011 season, on and off the pitch, has concluded. The 1st XI retained their Surrey Championship ECB: Premiership status. No mean feat in what has to said is a highly competitive, highly skilled competition, full of top quality players, including many cricketers with First Class experience. The 2nd and 3rd XIs won their respective Surrey Championship 1st Divisions and are now back in their Premiership competitions; and the 4th XI won promotion to the Surrey Cricket League's Division 1. Sadly, our 5th XI lost their battle to stay in the Championship's 4th XI Premiership and were relegated to the regional competition on the final day of the season.
There were many superb individual performances during the season. Far too many to mention here but detailed via the statistics pages at our 'Play-Cricket' website.
At Colts level, our U12's won the County Champions Trophy by beating Wimbledon in the county final, towards the end of August at Sunbury
Well done to all involved, young and not so young, in the club's playing success this year. A great end to a tough season; and commiserations to those who didn't quite gain the success of others this time round. Better luck in 2012.
Finally, thanks to all those members who have contributed so much to this year's all-round success, off the field. Far too many to mention by name; far too many tasks to mention by deed; but you know who you are and you know what you've done. Where would this club be without people like you? Your help is truly appreciated, and gratefully accepted.
