We came close to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory at Banstead but the 3-wicket win keeps us joint top of the league with Wimbledon. Well done to Harry and Ollie (both 31 retired) for their contributions with the bat. However, four of our six remaining league fixtures are against Reigate Priory (twice) and Spencer (twice) so we’ve certainly got our work cut out. The encouraging news is that Reigate lost to Addiscombe on Sunday, although I gather Reigate were weaker than usual. No doubt they’ll be back to full strength for this week’s matches!
As you are aware, we play our Cup Semi-Final on Thursday (AT HARTSWOOD SPORTS GROUND, REIGATE) and I’d like to thank all those parents in advance – Neil, Ges, Nick and Grant in particular - for their help in getting things organised. It’s been a real headache! I’ve decided, therefore, to stick with the boys travelling to Reigate, plus Yanek and Jenanan for Sunday’s league game, also against Reigate.
I apologise to those not selected for Sunday but we have full availability for the first time this year. Further opportunities will arise over the course of the month.
